Timmins, Ontario — Pregnancy can be overwhelming, especially if you’re a teen, new to Canada, feeling alone, or facing tough situations like violence or substance use. The Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) is here to help.
People who are eligible to join the program receive:
- One-on-one advice about nutrition for mom and baby
- Prenatal vitamins
- Food supports
“There are a lot of challenges for pregnant people in our area,” said Caitlin Minard, Registered Dietitian with Northeastern Public Health (NEPH). “Things like not having enough food, trouble with mental health or substance use, and barriers to accessing prenatal support happen more often here than in other parts of Ontario. CPNP is a trusted program that helps parents and babies stay healthy.”
NEPH is reaffirming its commitment to supporting pregnant individuals through CPNP, a program that’s been helping people for many years. Now part of the newly merged NEPH, CPNP continues to offer essential, free services to those who need them. NEPH encourages clients to access the CPNP program closest to where they live.
