IPAC Lapse at Just Lovely, Haileybury
September 16, 2025

Haileybury, Ontario — An investigation by Northeastern Public Health (NEPH) has identified that clients of Just Lovely, Haileybury, who received manicure and pedicure services between November 23, 2023, and August 20, 2025, may have been exposed to improperly disinfected reusable equipment. The risk to clients is low. However, NEPH recommends that clients who received services there between those dates consult a healthcare professional.

“The risk of infection is low, and NEPH is not aware of any cases of infection associated with this lapse” says Suzanne Lajoie, Manager of Environmental Health at NEPH.
During the investigation, NEPH issued a closure order on August 20, 2025, with steps that the operators needed to complete to resolve the situation. Since that date, the owner has co-operated fully with NEPH to come into compliance. The business reopened on August 25, 2025, after the issues had been resolved.

Lajoie added, “Although these facilities are inspected regularly, inspections only represent a snapshot in time. NEPH encourages anyone to reach out to public health should you want to discuss concerns related to inspected businesses. Inspection results are also available on our HealthWise Disclosure website (HealthWise Inspection Results)”.
