Timmins, Ontario — Northeastern Public Health’s (NEPH) 2026 fall flu and COVID-19 vaccine campaign is now underway. This year’s changes are designed to cut wait times and make sure everyone who wants a vaccine can get one.
This year, clinics in Kirkland Lake, New Liskeard, Englehart, and other Timiskaming district communities are moving to booked appointments. It’s the same easy booking system already used in communities from Moosonee to Hornepayne to Timmins.
“Booking ahead means you pick the time that works best for you,” says Kassandra Plante, Manager of Sexual Health and Community Immunization. “There’s no line-up! You just show up at your appointment time and get your shot.”
All flu and COVID-19 appointments can now be booked online anytime at neph.click/calendar. Clinics start soon with a full clinic schedule available on the NEPH website. If you’d rather book by phone, call 1-877-442-1212 and a staff member will help you.
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are free and recommended for everyone 6 months and older. NEPH is hosting clinics in over a dozen locations across the region. You can also get vaccinated through your health care provider or a participating pharmacy.
Some people are more likely to get very sick from flu and COVID-19.
“That’s why it’s important for them, and the people around them, to get vaccinated as soon as possible,” says Plante.
These groups include:
- People with health conditions like diabetes, cancer, or lung disease
- Adults 65 and older
- Pregnant women
- Children 6 months to 5 years old
- People who live or work with someone at high risk
- People who provide essential community services, like paramedics, nurses, and doctors
“Getting vaccinated is still the most effective way to protect yourself and the people you love,” adds Plante. “We hope to see everyone who wants or needs a vaccine at one of our clinics this fall.”
