Pap screening looks for changes in the cells of your cervix and is different than testing for sexually transmitted infections.

Individuals 25 and above who are or have ever been sexually active are eligible for Pap Screening as per Cancer Care Ontario Guidelines, with one exception: people who are immunocompromised can start screening at age 21. If you are concerned about a sexually transmitted infection, call or book an appointment with the nurse.

Screening may be discontinued at the age of 70 if you have had 3 or more negative screening results in the previous 10 years.
